Check Out This Heavily Customized 2000 Celica!
Have you ever pondered where Toyota drew inspiration for naming one of their iconic sports cars, the Celica? Well, here’s the story behind it. The name Celica is derived from the Latin term *coelica*, which translates to celestial or heavenly. This choice perfectly aligns with the car's reputation for being reliable, versatile, and just plain cool. But wait—what if I told you this car could get even more out-of-this-world? Feast your eyes on this stunning find on eBay:

This particular 2000 Celica was customized by the renowned DTM Autobody, and eBay user billtek was the one who brought this vision to life.
At first glance, it’s clear that this Celica has undergone a complete transformation from its original look when it rolled off the dealership floor. Here’s what it once looked like:

The seller reached out to DTM Autobody to give the car a full-body makeover. Even the trunk got some love:

DTM Autobody pulled out all the stops with this gunmetal custom wide-body kit. They replaced the factory hood, roof, and trunk with sleek carbon fiber components. To enhance the stance, they dropped the front and rear ground clearance and added JDM headlights, a wicked set of performance tires, custom rims, and DPE wheels. This GTS hatchback also boasts a custom dual exhaust system with burnished edges for an extra kick.
Inside, the black and grey interior was given a personalized touch. The seller installed Bride bucket seats, a Momo steering wheel, and a manual stick shift knob. There’s also a custom stereo system tucked away in the back.
Interestingly enough, the engine bay remains unchanged. Under the hood sits the original transmission and a 1.8L engine with 130,000 miles on it. The seller recommended swapping out the stock engine for a Toyota Supra Twin Turbo unit for those looking to upgrade.
Unfortunately, the eBay auction wrapped up recently without any bids, so there’s still a chance for someone to snag this gem for around $10,000.
