Chicago Still & Box Alarm, 10-11-13

<

From what Josh Boyajian shared: "Multiple fire units were dispatched by MFAO to a still and box alarm at 3143 W Arthington Avenue due to reports of a fire with people trapped inside. Engine 107 was among the first to arrive on the scene, noticing heavy smoke billowing from the third floor. While Truck 36 ascended to the roof, Engine 107 and Engine 44 took the lead in battling the flames. It seemed the fire had originated in the basement and had spread upward through the walls and into the floors above. The firefighters faced challenging conditions as the fire intensified, with the cold weather adding an extra layer of difficulty. Despite the snow-covered ground, they worked tirelessly to control the blaze and ensure everyone's safety. Here are some of my photos capturing the intense efforts of the Chicago Fire Department during this snowy winter incident." [Attached are several images showcasing firefighters in action, equipment deployed around the burning building, and moments of coordination between different units.] These photos truly capture the dedication and skill of our local heroes as they tackled one of the first major fires of the season under less-than-ideal circumstances. *Josh*
