ChargeLab successfully migrates Enel X Way EV chargers
Last week, **ChargeLab announced** an initiative to migrate commercial Enel X Way EV chargers to our OCPP-based back-end for enhanced charging station management. Today, we’re excited to share that dozens of these chargers have already been successfully moved to our platform. In light of the recent uncertainty in the EV charging software industry, we’re also providing more details on the process and what it means for site hosts and drivers alike.
For a closer look at one of the recently migrated sites, check out this video featuring ChargeLab CEO Zak Lefevre:
### Technical Challenges
It’s important to note that Enel X Way commercial EV chargers are not simple OCPP devices that can be easily re-pointed to a third-party system. These units require a complex reconfiguration process before they can integrate with a new charging station management system (CSMS). So far, ChargeLab is among the few providers capable of handling this migration efficiently, especially ahead of the October 11 deadline.
If you're speaking with another provider about this transition, make sure they’ve completed similar migrations recently and fully understand the technical intricacies involved.
### ChargeLab's Solution
Thanks to the hard work of our engineering team, we've developed a reliable and efficient method to migrate Enel X Way chargers quickly. The process involves backend configuration from our side, along with some on-site steps that can be done by a technician using a laptop or smartphone.
