Beyond our borders …
Hi there, my name is Paul Dodd, and I’m a paramedic with the London Ambulance Service in England. Alongside my colleague Stuart Gray, also a paramedic based in London, we’ve put together an e-book that’s now available on Kindle and the Kindle app.
The book is called 101 Dumb Emergency Calls, and it’s a collection of some of the most ridiculous and unnecessary calls that emergency services receive every day. While the tone is light-hearted and humorous, there's a serious side to it too — it highlights how some people misuse these vital services, which can endanger real lives and waste precious resources.
We hope this book will make you laugh, but also think twice about what you consider an emergency. If you're interested, you can check out a preview by following the link below:

Thanks in advance for checking it out!

101 Dumb Emergency Calls is a compilation of the most absurd and irrelevant calls made to emergency services in recent years, mostly from the UK and the US. These stories highlight just how often these life-saving services are abused, sometimes putting real people in danger.
Featuring original cartoons and hyperlinks to actual audio recordings (some of which have been released publicly by police and ambulance services to demonstrate how seriously some people take their responsibilities), this book is both entertaining and eye-opening. It's not just a laugh — it's a wake-up call.
Written by two frontline paramedics, the book draws on real-life experiences — from people calling 999 for directions, to bizarre rants about missing buses or bad weather. These aren’t just funny stories; they’re examples of how important it is to use emergency services responsibly.
You might be shocked by some of the calls included here. You’ll probably find yourself wondering, “How could someone really think that’s an emergency?â€
