California giant battery test clean energy storage capacity

<

Finding a bigger place for clean energy and being able to store more power is a daunting challenge for utility companies. Southern California Edison is obviously ready to accept this challenge, but it just started the Cynthia energy storage project. Lithium batteries have a large-scale experiment.

In the next two years, the 32-megawatt hour array will dig up the remaining energy sources from nearby, including the wind turbine area; SCE will pay close attention to see how lithium-ion battery packs improve the real-world performance of the grid. It may take some time before the battery station can be seen on the local SCE network. Whether the test is successful or not, the battery will only support a small town in the substation. If it is in a major big city, then it will need to pay more. Efforts to get more support, even China's record-setting storage system.
