LatiS.pA of Italy has developed a series of new high-hardness composites that can be molded using conventional injection molding techniques. The new material, called Ultra-Stiff, is made of high modulus carbon fiber reinforced polyamide (PA), polyphthalamide (PPA), polyetheretherketone (PEEK) and polyphenylene sulfide (PPS). According to Lati, the new composite's tensile modulus can be as high as 50,000 MPa, and it can be recycled and used instead of aluminum alloys.
