Cicero Box Alarm 10-30-12
Approximately 24th and Cicero – an old railroad maintenance building, a former roundhouse. The aerial view was taken using the new Apple Maps app. When I arrived, there wasn’t much left to see in terms of fire, but they had two elevated master streams ready, so I imagine it must have looked pretty intense at the start. From the radio chatter, it seems like they were dealing with an old railroad engine on fire. The Lyons squad was supplying a foam line inside, though I’m not sure if it was Class A or B foam. I really liked the shot of the hole cut through the fence to reach the hydrant – I wonder how they knew it was there? The Berwyn engine was running a very long relay of LDH from across Cicero Avenue.
