The new combined carding machine was successfully developed in Beijing

After nearly six years of dedicated scientific research, supported by the Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Office, the Organization Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Beijing Textile Holdings (Group) Co., Ltd., along with collaboration from various enterprises, a professor-level senior engineer from Beijing Xuelian Cashmere Co., Ltd. led the development of a high-efficiency vertical multi-functional air suspension special animal fluff combined carding machine. This project was guided by model workers and government subsidy experts from the State Council, as well as Beijing's outstanding contribution experts. The machine has been successfully developed in Beijing and is now in operation and available for sale. The technology behind this carding machine focuses on processing special animal fluffs such as cashmere, yak wool, camel hair, and rabbit plush. Carding is crucial to the combing effect, economic benefits, and product quality. Over the past two decades, significant progress has been made in this field, highlighted by awards like the National Science and Technology Invention Award and the China Patent Invention and Creation Gold Award in 1997. The "BSLD-95 Cashmere Combined Carding Machine" achieved a combing extraction rate of 50% for medium-quality cashmere and a comprehensive extraction rate of over 95%, with fiber damage below 12%. It not only replaced imported machines but also became an exported product, contributing greatly to the global advancement of carding technology. Despite these achievements, research continues. New challenges have emerged, particularly with specific cashmere raw materials in regions like Xinjiang, where traditional methods often involved multiple passes through modified machines, leading to excessive damage. Based on these findings, a new "high-efficiency vertical multi-functional air suspension special animal fluff combined carding machine" was developed after six years of research. This equipment can be used as a cashmere, camel, or yak wool carding machine, offering versatility and efficiency. From a design perspective, this vertical carding system integrates air suspension and combing, creating a completely new method. Unlike conventional horizontal systems, this vertical approach allows for a shorter process length—just 0.7 to 0.9 meters. Compared to Japanese, British, or modified Chinese systems, it reduces power consumption, minimizes fiber damage, and improves separation of fine and coarse fibers. It also enhances control over the carding process, allowing better adjustment of fiber distribution and reducing the formation of hair balls. This breakthrough represents a major leap forward in carding technology. It addresses long-standing issues such as high energy use, large floor space, and limited adjustability. The new machine offers higher efficiency, lower costs, and improved quality control, making it ideal for enterprises producing premium camel and yak wool or processing high-quality cashmere. With its advanced optical and electromechanical integration, it sets a new standard in the industry and opens up new opportunities for growth.
