The people who knew him all said: "This old man is a person who knows most about the water meter in Changchun City."
He tapped the door, and the daughter-in-law of the old man let reporters into the room. The old man wore glasses. Although his hair had almost fallen out, he was still full of red light and his body was extraordinarily tough. There was no need to ask if this was Zhu Shunyi's old man. Zhu Shunyi told reporters that during the pseudo-Manchu period, he worked in the Waterway Division as a maintenance technician and was responsible for the installation of water meters. The young man helped the Japanese repair the water meter and was bitten by the dog. In 1919, Zhu Shunyu was born in a small village in Renqiu, Hebei Province. After graduating from high school, he came to Changchun alone to work.
Zhu Shunyi recalled that during the Manchu Period, South Lake was one of the water sources in Changchun. In addition, Jingyuetan Reservoir and Xinlicheng Reservoir also supplied water to Changchun City. He said that at that time, the Chinese people were often bullied. Once he went to the bank dormitory on the south side of Xi’an Road and repaired a water meter for a Japanese household. Who knows after completing the water meter, the Japanese not only did not thank him but instead gave up a bite of a wolf dog. He, a dog so big as a wild wolf, pounced on a bite and broke Chunshun's cotton trousers. Dog teeth bit deep into his left thigh and his tears burst into tears. The Japanese person did not have the meaning of apologizing. He looked coldly at Zhu Shunyan. At that time, he was really angry and could not speak. Zhu Shunyi said nothing, dragged his left leg that was bitten by a dog, and returned home one by one. After a few days on my own medicine, I was left with a particularly obvious flaw on my left leg. During the period of the pseudo-Manchu Period, the main leaders of the Waterway Branch under the Japanese Manchurian Puppet Manchurian Period were the Japanese. The water meters of the United States, Japan, and the former Soviet Union were all dry-type water meters. The surface of the water meter was cast iron, and the components inside were copper. They needed to be broken. Accessories are now almost gone. The old “dry water meter†has poor sensitivity. When the water flow is small, the water meter cannot be monitored. After the liberation, the “wet water meter†is used and the small water flow can be monitored.
The unit was renamed under the control of the Kuomintang during the chaotic war of liberation. Zhu Shun was a foreman and there were more than 10 people under his hand. Zhu Shunzhao recalled: “After the Kuomintang controlled Changchun, the Waterway Branch was renamed the Water Management Office. The office is located in the old building of the current municipal government. The management is chaotic. Workers extract the oil from the transformer and warm it, and some people steal the transformer.†Once, Zhu Shunyi and another colleague were called to go to the city hospital to repair the water meter and took the money to the canteen to buy food at lunchtime. They did not even sell it to them. There was no way they could only carry heavy parts and go home to eat. Because it is too far away from home, it is inconvenient to come back and forth, and there is no way to solve the problem by finding a unit leader the next day.
Technology Daner was seconded to “FAW†to create a large water meter. In early 1949, Zhu Shunyi took a two-year stretcher on the front line of Tianjin. In 1951, he returned to Changchun and continued to perform water meter replacement and maintenance work at the water plant. This was a technical grab at the factory. On one occasion, he was seconded to the Changchun First Automobile Manufacturing Plant to help FAW manufacture an ultra-large water meter. Because of production needs, it is necessary to install a water meter on a 600 mm main bar. This water meter does not have to be developed independently. Zhu Shunyi led a group of FAW technical workers to overcome difficulties and took five months to successfully develop the super-large water meter. He also taught the FAW technical worker how to repair it. FAW consciously left him to work. The water plant said nothing. Zhu Shunyi returned to the water plant.
