Limited Scion Monogram Series – Premium FR-S and tC Available Now

<

The Scion brand has been out of business for over five years now, and many car enthusiasts are wondering whether Scion vehicles will eventually become collector's items. While not every Scion model will hold significant value in the future, one particular line stands out as a potential classic: the limited-edition Monogram Series. In 2014, Scion introduced the Monogram Series as a premium trim option for two of its models—the FR-S and the tC. Only 2,000 units of the FR-S Monogram Series and 2,500 of the tC Monogram Series were ever produced. This exclusivity makes it highly likely that these models will gain collectible status in the years to come. So, what exactly is the Monogram Series? It was Scion’s way of offering enhanced luxury and features without compromising affordability. The goal was to provide a compelling package that could compete with other brands while still appealing to Scion’s loyal fanbase. For the FR-S, the Monogram Series featured Alcantara inserts in the interior, along with upgraded audio systems, smart key technology, and HID headlights. The tC version included heated seats, leather-trimmed interiors, and a rear window wiper, among other upgrades. Both models received subtle but meaningful exterior enhancements, like spoilers and color-matched details. According to Doug Murtha, then Vice President of Scion, “Through this limited edition Monogram Series, Scion brought together extra comforts and conveniences in the FR-S and tC without sacrificing value. By incorporating these features as standard for a limited time, we provide a great price to go head-to-head with the competition and encourage more drivers to get excited about experiencing a Scion.” The FR-S Monogram Series started at $27,400 for the manual and $28,500 for the automatic, with a value package of over $1,900. The tC Monogram Series came in at $21,400 and $22,400 respectively, with a value package of over $1,500. These were strong offers at the time, and today, they’re even rarer. If you ever come across a Scion Monogram Series vehicle for sale, it might be worth considering as an investment. With their limited production numbers and high-quality features, these models have the potential to appreciate in value over time.
