Buffalo Grove house fire 12/7

<

Buffalo Grove firefighters were initially called to investigate a smoking outdoor light fixture, but shortly after, another call came in reporting a potential house fire on Buckthorn Terrace last night. When the first engine arrived, they noticed smoke and the incident was upgraded to a working fire response (Code 4). The homeowner had just returned home before the fire department arrived. The house was filled with smoke, and there was a small visible fire in the rear. Upon entering, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and then discovered fire in the 'C-D' corner of the structure. The fire eventually vented through a second-story window as interior crews advanced their lines. One firefighter suffered a minor injury and was taken to the hospital for evaluation before being released. Fire departments from Arlington Heights, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, and Long Grove provided support, while Barrington sent an ambulance for rehab and a Wauconda unit transported the injured firefighter.
