Code 4 fire in Glencoe, 4-30-15
At 328 Tudor Court, Glencoe Fire Department was called to a fire on the roof of a construction site. Several pallets of Styrofoam were burning, creating a large plume of smoke that was visible from a distance. Northfield and Winnetka crews arrived with ladders positioned on the roof and used hand lines to begin suppression efforts. Glencoe and Northfield were connected to hydrants, while Wilmette set up a hose line and attempted to connect to a hydrant but ultimately did not supply water.
Highwood and Highland Park also responded to the scene. A construction worker was taken by Glenview Ambulance 6 to Highland Park Hospital for evaluation.
Multiple fire engines and apparatus were seen at the location, including a Pierce Saber, a Smeal Quint, an E-One e-MAX, and a Pierce Impel. Firefighters worked under heavy smoke, with some climbing aerial ladders and others pulling hoses through the area. The scene was busy as crews coordinated their efforts to bring the fire under control.
