In the design of automotive parts molds, applying CAD technology, we must first do the following:

(1) Design calculations are programmed. The programming in the mold is programmed to form a special module for mold calculation. The corresponding calculation function is directly invoked during the design to complete all kinds of work quickly and correctly, which facilitates the design of the subsequent parts and molds.

(2) Mold standardization. Statistics related to auto parts, according to the shape characteristics of the parts and the similarity of the mold structure using group technology, divided into categories, planning a typical structure of the typical parts, to achieve the standardization of mold design, mold manufacturing process standardization, mold management standardization;

(3) Computer-aided stamping direction determination. Using the parting line function provided by the software system, determine if there is a dead zone when the drawn part is formed in a certain direction. Pay attention to the determination of a key surface, such as the normal vector method to determine the stamping direction;

(4) Design of auxiliary process supplemental profiles. At the flange of the software model, the surface extension function is used to perform the surface extension processing in the direction of the original trend line of the surface to generate the required process extension surface; the side wall profile is generated by a draft angle surface; the press surface has four boundaries The curve forms a boundary grid curve, and its shape cannot have unusual protrusions and pits.

By using the CAM technology to link the computer with the factory equipment, the computer system is used for production, operation, management, control and operation, which reduces man-made process errors and greatly improves efficiency.
