From what I witnessed just now, the Lake Forest Fire Department responded to a Code 4 situation involving a chimney fire. It all started when a passerby spotted flames coming out of the chimney at 472 East Illinois Road and called 911. When Battalion 42 arrived on the scene, they quickly noticed flames shooting out of the chimney and promptly escalated the response level to a Code 4.
The initial Code 3 response included Lake Forest Squad Co. 421, Engine Co. 422, Ambulance 421, and Battalion 42. As the situation developed, the Code 4 upgrade brought additional resources like Lake Forest Chief 4200, 4201, and 4202, Knollwood Ladder Co. 44, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Squad Co. 51, Highland Park Engine Co. 34, Battalion 33, Chief 3301, Deerfield Chief 2000, and Libertyville Ambulance 463. Even units from neighboring areas such as Lake Bluff Chief 4503 and Wheeling Ambulance 24 were dispatched to assist.
Knollwood Ladder 44 positioned themselves strategically in the driveway and used their aerial ladder to get a better look at the chimney from above. Meanwhile, Lake Forest Squad 421 had their light tower set up in the driveway to provide illumination for the firefighters working below.
Attached are some photos I took during the incident. The first image shows a Lake Forest Fire Department squad vehicle ready for action. In the second photo, you can see an aerial ladder raised high on one of the fire trucks, which played a crucial role in assessing the situation. The third picture captures a Knollwood Fire Department truck arriving on the scene, adding another layer of support to the operation.
