BorgWarner's revenue increased by 5.7% in the previous quarter and net profit declined slightly by 0.7%

BorgWarner recently announced fourth-quarter and full-year financial results last year. The data shows that the company's revenue and operating profit both increased in the last quarter, and net profit suffered a slight decline.

In the fourth quarter of 2014, BorgWarner’s operating income reached US$1.992 billion, an increase of 5.7% from US$1.885 billion in the same period of 2013; operating profit was US$212 million, a 12.8% increase from the US$188 million in the same period of 2013; net profit was US$140 million, a slight drop of 0.7% year-on-year, and US$141 million in the fourth quarter of 2013.

In the whole year of last year, BorgWarner’s operating income totaled US$8.305 billion, up 11.7% from US$7.437 billion in 2013; operating profit increased by 12.7% year-on-year, from US$855 million in 2013 to US$964 million; net profit was The $624 million in 2013 increased to $656 million, an increase of 5.1% over the same period last year.

In the previous quarter, BorgWarner’s engine business revenue was US$1.384 billion, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%. Last year, the business unit’s cumulative revenue was US$5.706 billion, a 13.6% increase from US$5.022 billion in 2013.

In the fourth quarter of 2014, the revenue of the BorgWarner Drive Systems Division declined slightly, by 1.9% year-on-year, to US$615 million. The business unit of the business continued to grow for the full year last year, up 7.5% year-on-year to US$2.631 billion.

Due to the weakening foreign currency, in the third quarter of last year, BorgWarner lowered its operating income growth forecast for the full year. The increase was reduced from 12% to 13%, and it was originally 13% to 15%.
